1. Make a horizontal card 6 ½”x 5” from dark reddish violet cardstock. Set aside.
2. Using the VersaMark inkpad and Venus Violet opaque embossing powder, stamp and emboss Woven Rectangle image twice on the specialty paper and cut them out as shown on sample card. **Pat paper with the X-Static bag before applying ink. Set aside.
3. Cut a piece of drywall plastic mesh tape 6 ¼” long. Cut a piece of light reddish violet or white cardstock 4 ½”x 2 ¼”. With the sticky side of the mesh tape down, attach it to the very edge on one long side of the cardstock, keeping some excess on both ends. **Fold and adhere the excess mesh on the two short edges to the back of the cardstock. Using the VersaMark inkpad, liberally apply the ink to the top of the mesh tape; press quite hard so the ink seeps down into the little squares in the mesh. Apply Royal Violet embossing powder on the inked tape, tap off the excess and melt the powder with a heat gun. Wait until the piece cools and then repeat the procedure so it has two coats of melted embossing powder. **At this point, you should not see the color of the mesh tape or the cardstock. If you can, you don’t have enough ink on your inkpad. Cut a straight edge on the other long side of the mesh. Set aside.
4. Using the VersaMark inkpad and Venus Violet embossing powder, stamp and emboss Solid Heart #4 and Square Love images on the specialty paper. **Pat the X-Static bag on the paper before applying ink. Cut these two images out in the shape of rectangles and round all four corners on each using the punch.
5. Attach the two Woven Rectangles to the left side and bottom of the front of the card as shown using double stick adhesive tape.
6. Attach the embossed mesh tape to the front as shown using embossing powder.
7. Attach the Heart and Love images as shown using mini glue dots. |
