| Instructions |
: |
1. Make a base card 6 ½” x 5” from medium orange cardstock. Set aside.
2. Cut a piece of white matte cardstock 5 ½” x 4 ¼”.
3. Using the orange dye inkpad, rub the ink on top of the white cardstock until no white shows through and the color is even. You want extremely good coverage. Then rub the brown dye inkpad LIGHTLY over the orange. Set aside to dry or heat set. (Refer to the “second method for stamping with bleach” under “Stamping With Household Cleaners” in our “Tips & Techniques” section on our website)
4. Cut a piece of brown cardstock smaller than the front of the base card.
5. Using the VersaMark inkpad and Dog Gone Brown embossing powder, stamp and emboss Homer on light orange cardstock. Cut it into the shape of a small tag. Make a blank tag a little larger from medium orange cardstock. Anchor the smaller one on top of the larger one with mini glue dots. Set a mustard colored eyelet at the top of the smaller tag to create a hole for the tag.
6. When the orange/brown ink is completely dry, stamp Maple Leaf twelve times (four rows of three images) with bleach. **Stamp them as close together as possible without stamping over another image. Set aside to dry. (Refer to the bleach section in our “Stamping With Household Cleaners” under the “Tips & Techniques” section on our website.
7. When the bleach is completely dry, trim off as much cardstock as you can without cutting into any of the images.
8. Attach the leaf piece to the brown cardstock with double stick tape and then set a mustard colored eyelet in each corner.
9. Cut about four or five fibers (rust, brown & orange) to the desired length, string them through the eyelet hole in the small tag (use a toothpick to encourage them through the hole) and bring all the fiber ends together. Attach the small Homer tag to the leaf piece with mini glue dots. (See the sample card for placement)
10. Twist the fibers all the way to the end, take them to the back of the brown cardstock and secure them with embossing tape. Cut off any extra fibers.
11. Attach this piece to the front of the base card with double stick tape. Use embossing tape where the fibers are located at the top since it will hold down the cardstock better. |
