1. Create a 6 ½”x 5” vertical base card from textured gold cardstock. Cut a piece of the specialty paper smaller than the front of the card for layering and attach it as shown with double stick adhesive tape. Set aside.
2. Using the VersaMark inkpad and Rhapsody embossing powder, stamp and emboss Chrysanthemum Medallion image on Stardream Gold cardstock or paper. Do the same using Cordial Red embossing powder and Christmas Green embossing powder. *Pat the cardstock with the X-Static bag before applying the ink. Cut them out as shown in sample card. Set aside.
3. Cut a piece of drywall plastic mesh tape 6 ¼” long. Cut a piece of cardstock 4 ¼”x 2 ¼”. With the sticky side of the mesh tape down, attach it to the very edge on one long side of the cardstock, keeping some excess on both ends **Fold and adhere the excess mesh on the two short edges to the back of the cardstock. Using the VersaMark or gold pigment inkpad, liberally apply the ink to the top of the mesh tape; press quite hard so the ink seeps down into the little squares in the mesh. Apply Circus embossing powder on the inked tape, tap off the excess and melt the powder with a heat gun. Wait until the piece cools and then repeat the procedure so it has two coats of melted embossing powder. **At this point, you should not see the color of the mesh tape or the cardstock. If you can, you don’t have enough ink on your inkpad. Cut a straight edge on the other long side of the mesh.
4. Make a tiny bow from narrow red ribbon and one each from narrow green and blue ribbon.
5. Using the VersaMark or gold inkpad and Circus embossing powder, stamp and emboss Thank You on a small piece of Stardream Gold cardstock or paper. **Pat the cardstock with the X-Static bag before applying the ink. Cut to size.
6. Attach the embossed mesh tape to the front of the card as shown using embossing tape. Attach the Chrysanthemum Medallions and bows as shown using craft mini glue dots. Attach the Thank You piece on the bottom right as shown using double stick adhesive tape. |
